DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Medical Heroes Appreciation 5K Run & Walk in San Diego\, CA to celebrate the study volunteers who give the gift of participation in clinical research. Prizes for top runners\, top fundraisers\, the team with the most spirit and more! Make sure to take advantage of our early-bird registration! Early-bird registration is $30 and closes on May 24th at 11:59PM. General registration is $40. Registration includes a free t-shirt and bib. There will be a bib raffle at the end of the 5K for a chance to win prizes! Must be present to win! All proceeds will provide education and outreach about clinical research participation to patients and their families in minority and under-served communities. This event will be held in conjunction with the DIA 2019 Global Annual Meeting.  The DIA 2019 Global Annual Meeting brings together thousands of biopharma researchers\, developers\, and regulators to drive innovation from the lab\, through regulatory approval\, to patients.  Designed to drive insights into action by connecting key policy discussions to real-world knowledge that you need to do your job every day\, your attendance will accelerate your growth and your organization’s performance in the development ecosystem. By joining us as a participant\, you can run or walk from any location you choose. Run\, jog\, walk around your neighborhood\, on a trail\, treadmill\, or at the gym. To participate as a Virtual Participant\, simply choose the ‘Virtual Runner/Walker’ option when you register for the Medical Heroes Appreciation 5K\, and we’ll send you a t-shirt.
